I may have a little bit of a shopping problem.

=(

Went shopping with momsie again. Ok, so I was originally only going to return a few items that didn’t fit me, but somehow (more like as usual) ended up buying things. And even though I limited myself to items on sale, shopping is still shopping.

  1. 3 sunglasses (1 for mom)
  2. 1 basic black tee
  3. 1 basic white tee
  4. a cute watch
  5. a 10 for $10 at Claire’s (I got some really cute and useful stuff!! like socks and a hair clip for when I curl my hair)
  6. undies
  7. and a chemise/nightgown

=P

Also, I just talked to Jake a few minutes ago and sheesh, that guy! He said he didn’t make reservations anywhere and that if maybe we can just wing it like on Valentine’s. Yeah… so I guess we could– or should! I mean, that’s the only thing we can do right now. =/ I wish I did the planning instead, it is disappointing. Not that this is such a big deal that I would get mad or anything nor am I complaining for an open spontaneous night… just that he said he’d do something but ended up not doing. Plus, it suddenly made me feel less special. See, I think it would be extra nice if it was a planned night, because.. well who knows, maybe this is our only anniversary dinner, so I guess I kinda wanted it to be different from our other whatever wherever night outs, that’s all.

I hate to say this and don’t want to sound like I’m blowing things out of proportion, but I’m afraid the next time I hear Jake tell me something he’s planning or going to do, I’ll be doubtful of it - like I’ve developed this mistrust on him. I hate the feeling but it’s there. =( Sad but I think he really screwed up this time. Oh well, I’m sure things will go fine tomorrow night.

We Attended Sweeney

Yesterday was opening day of the movie Sweeney Todd.

And yes, Jake and I saw it. I know there had been reviews saying this movie was disappointing but I think those critics expected way too much or simply compared the film adaptation to its broadway version and cast (who I believe sang really well). Obviously, these are completely of different media so one cannot say that the movie was a disappointment because I think it did deliver very well. Of course when you go see it as a movie, you go in knowing that there are limitations to what they can do when compared to a broadway production (in example, they didn’t use all of the musical scores). So for those who are bashing the movie… sheesh, give it a rest! I think everyone knows by now that the original Broadway Musical was excellent (they wouldn’t turn it into a movie if it wasn’t), but the movie had its own charm too. Stage props are not as impressive as the visual abilities films can render nowadays. A movie does wonders in bringing the audience to a place they’ve never been to before; I think that part is where the movie excelled the play.

Anyway, as far as the story development goes, I love how it didn’t focus on one character alone. Everyone got their chance to shine. Each character had their own story to tell and they flowed seamlessly with one another.

And of course, digitizing the movie was awesome. I loved the part where Mrs. Lovett was singing about her dream life with Mr. Sweeney Todd. I loved the sudden splash of colors! And the wardrobe was awesome!!

I’ll get a DVD copy once they release it.
